A homeowner in Sandbanks, Poole was experiencing water ingress internally around the first-floor bathroom window of their holiday let property. Blocked Gutters and Downpipe: Moss and debris had clogged the system, causing water to overflow behind the gutter and into the cladding
Blocked Weep Vents: Removing the cladding above the window revealed rotten timbers and a poorly installed substructure, which was blocking the weep vents designed to allow water to exit the cavity externally
The expert cladding repair process entailed the following:
- Clearing the moss and debris blocking the gutters and downpipe to restore proper drainage
- Removing the cladding and replacing the rotten timber substructure
- Ensuring the weep vents could function as intended to prevent further water ingress
- Caulking the gap above the window to prevent further water ingress
- Reinstalling the cladding to a professional standard leaving the system in a safe and functional state
